New Update
Hi Jack and Coyne family relatives,
My apologies for not getting back to everyone sooner. Jack, it’s great that you will be able to join us. Hope to see all of you in Wisconsin in August!!
I wanted to give you a few updates on the plans for the party and other activities.
The family reunion party/picnic will be on August 7 (Saturday) at Harrington Beach State Park, which is just north of Port Washington and the hotel. (Time still to be determined.) We have reserved a covered shelter area (in case the weather is not cooperative), which has a simple kitchen space. (Thanks to Rick and Jenny) It seems like a great location!
Also, camping is available at the park, in case you prefer that to staying in the hotel.
Hotel rooms are still available, but you should try to make your reservation soon if you are thinking about joining us at the reunion. There is a big PGA tournament in Port Washington the following weekend, and so rooms might get booked up fast. Please note that if you decide to book a room with the special Coyne Family Reunion rate, you must book for a two-night minimum.
We have also reserved a party room in the hotel for the weekend, which can serve as a gathering place for people who want to visit outside of their rooms.
Planning committee members have a lot of ideas for fun activities. One idea is a Friday night fish fry (a Wisconsin tradition), followed by a mini-golf tournament (bowling tournament if the weather is bad). Also, on Saturday morning, we might have 3K family fun run/walk along the historic streets of Port Washington. And then there are boat rides out on Lake Michigan, lots of stuff going on in downtown Milwaukee (including Arab World Festival that weekend), a golf course near the hotel in Port Washington as well as a Frisbee golf course. Lots to do! We will be putting together a more complete list of entertainment options in the coming weeks.
